6 Indian stars who skipped the T20 WC 2021 but can return to the T20 WC 2022

The Indian stars disappointed their fans with their performance in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Looking at the strength of the Indian stars, many fans expected the Men in Blue to lift their first ICC trophy since 2013 this year. However, the same did not happen.

India crashed out of the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup after losing two of its five Super 12 matches. The Men in Blue are now looking forward to winning the 2022 T20 WC which will take place in Australia. The following six Indian stars will be eager to return after losing a spot on the T20 WC 2021 squad.

1. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer’s shoulder injury cost him the Delhi Capitals captain’s armband and a place on the Indian team. He wasn’t even in the 15-man shortlist. Iyer will be looking to score a lot of points and come back for the next T20 World Cup.

3. T Natarajan

Left arm pacer T Natarajan could have been the X-factor for India in T20 WC 2021. However, the selectors did not choose him. Australia was a lucky place for Natarajan, and it could be where he will play his first T20 World Cup.

4. Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar is another peace thrower that could have made an impact in the 2021 T20 WC. He is a wicket-taker, who does well in powerplay. Chahar’s eyes will now be on the upcoming T20 WC.

5. Axar Patel

Handyman Axar Patel unfortunately he lost his spot on the 15-man squad for the 2021 T20 WC. Patel will look to continue performing well and return to the Indian T20 WC squad next year.

6. Shikhar Dhawan

Considered the ICC tournament specialist, Shikhar Dhawan can return to the Indian team for T20 WC 2022. He has the experience of playing Down Under and can be a game changer for the team. Dhawan captained India against Sri Lanka in July but was surprisingly ignored for T20 WC 2021.
