“Aaah nooo” – Faf du Plessis reacts to the withdrawal of AB de Villiers

In a heartbreaking development, South African legend AB de Villiers has decided to retire from all cricket formats today. This decision came suddenly and the Proteas star confirmed that he had played his last game in IPL 2021. He posted a tweet thread on Twitter to announce his retirement. Here’s what the former Royal Challengers Bangalore star wrote:

“It has been an incredible journey, but I have decided to retire from all cricket. Ever since backyard games with my older brothers, I have been playing with pure fun and unbridled excitement. Now, at the age of 37, that flame no longer burns so intensely ”.

In the lengthy tweet thread, AB de Villiers also expressed his gratitude to his teammates, fans, support staff members, coaches and cricket scoreboards. He added that he was looking forward to the next inning of his life along with his family. He also made the same post on his Instagram account, where his former South African teammate and longtime friend Faf du Plessis commented:

“Aaah nooooo… What a career. Incredibly lucky to have shared the pitch with you. The best I’ve played with (goat emoji).

Royal Challengers Bangalore signed AB de Villiers in 2011 and played for the franchise for ten years. Unfortunately, the world won’t be able to witness Mr. 360 beating in the middle once again.
