Twitterati comes out in support of Mohammad Shami after receiving online abuse

Mohammed Shami, star of the Indian cricket team, was targeted for online abuse by a part of disappointed fans over India’s defeat to arch-rival Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2021.

The Indian cricket team suffered a massive defeat to Pakistan in the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup, where the latter recorded a whopping 10 wiceket victory over India.

With that, the whole of India is disappointed and sad, and some of those fans have targeted Indian bowler Mohammed Shami with online abuse of Indian pacer. They blame Mohammed Shami’s performance against Pakistan for reasoning behind the loss of India, while many say that because Shami is an Indian Muslim, he didn’t perform at his best. Shami threw 4 overs and was hit for 43 points.

But the other section of supporters came out in support of the Indian bowler, including former Indian cricketers, the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and many more.

A number of fans are sharing the video of Mohammed Shami’s hat-trick against Afghanistan from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, thanks to which India survived a defeat to Afghanistan. While some are sharing strong messages in support of the Indian sprinter. Along with Shami, fans also targeted UP Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowler.

India vs Pakistan: T20 World Cup 2021

India suffered a heavy defeat to Pakistan for the first time in a World Cup event. In response to India’s 151, Pakistan comfortably pursued him with 10 wickets still in hand.

India struggled early on losing 2 wickets for just 6 runs. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant led India into a fighting stance with the former scoring a fifty. India finished the innings with 151 points.

In response, Pakistan gave no chance to Indian bowlers as they recorded the 10 wicket win. India will now face New Zealand on 31 October.
